Pieces are made to order and handforged in our Woodstock workshop so please allow for up to 10 working days manufacturing time. 

Economy | Your order should arrive within 3-4 working days.
Express | Your order will arrive within 2 working days. This allows for 1 day manufacturing and processing time.

  • Once your parcel has been sent you will receive an email with the tracking number.
  • We send parcels from Monday to Friday.
  • We cannot deliver to a PO Box and will need a physical address for all shipping within South Africa.

    INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

    Delivery Time | Your order should arrive within 2-5 working days depending upon destination and customs.
    • Online track and trace is provided.
    • Taxes and Duty | The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Orders shipped outside South Africa may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient's country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be fulfilled by the recipient; Matter Of Fakt has no control over these charges, nor can Matter Of Fakt predict what they may be.
    • Customs Policies | Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
      COLLECT
      We have a studio in Woodstock, Cape Town, so if you are based in the area you are welcome to select collection as the shipping option. You will then be notified once your order has been completed and is ready for you to collect.

      SHIPPING TERMS

      • We cannot be held responsible for a lost parcel if you entered the incorrect shipping information. If you've already completed your purchase and you've realised that the shipping information is incorrect, simply contact us with your relevant purchase reference number and correct shipping information.
      • We also cannot be held responsible if your parcel goes missing once we hand it over. Should you suspect that your parcel has gone missing before we do, please contact us as soon as possible.

      RING SIZING RETURNS & EXCHANGES: Courier fee charged at R70 for Main Centres & Towns each way.

      • Should you receive your ring and you have ordered the incorrect size,  please contact us within 5 working days.
      • We will then quote you to have the piece returned using our couriers. 
      • You may also opt to drop off at our studio in Woodstock, Cape Town.
      • Once we receive the returned item we will be in touch with you again to confirm new ring size. 
      • Depending on the piece and stock available, brass ring size changes charged at R100. Sterling Silver & pieces with stones charged at R150 per size change. Please note that size amendments on stone rings are dependant on availability of stock, as a new piece needs to made up.
      • You will be required to pay for courier charges for the exchanged item. Shipping fee for Main Centres: From R70 each way. 


      RETURNS & CREDIT VOUCHERS

      • Should you receive an item that you are not happy with, please contact us via email within 5 working days.
      • Upon our assessment of the piece we can arrange a return with you via our courier services.
      • Once we receive the returned item we will be in touch with you regarding the next steps.
      • Credit vouchers will only include the cost of the item and exclude your original shipping cost as well as returns shipping cost. 
      • Kindly note we do not offer refunds, but rather credit vouchers to purchase online. 
      • Please note: regrettably we cannot accept returns or exchanges on international orders or any 'sale', discounted or promotional items.
      • No exchanges on 9k gold earrings due to hygiene reasons.
      • No exchanges on 9k Gold and Sterling Silver rings. We make rings up to your specific size, therefore please be sure to send us your correct size.

          CARE MATTERS

          MATTER OF FAKT JEWELLERY IS MADE TO BE WORN IN THE SEA AND UNDER THE SUN.

          Your unique piece of Matter Of Fakt jewellery has been handmade using traditional methods and premium quality materials.

          As each piece is handforged, slight variations are to be expected and are what make them one of a kind.

          Please be gentle and do not apply lotions and or perfume while wearing your pieces. Please take special care to avoid water when wearing gold plated chains.

          Nothing is plated (except gold-plated chains where stated), so you can clean your jewellery without worrying about the surface wearing down.

          We high polish all brass, silver and gold pieces so they are shiny when you get them. Despite this, they will always dull slightly.

          To clean your pieces use the orange polishing cloth provided. Alternatively use a soft brush, warm water with dishwashing liquid or a jewellery cleaning product,
          then rinse and dry with a soft cloth.

          Store you pieces in an air-tight container and keep them out of the humidity in your bathroom.

          You can bring your brass or silver pieces to our workshop if you would prefer them to be shined professionally.

          The best way to keep your jewellery clean is to wear it!


          WHAT ABOUT THE CHAIN?

          Our chains are Italian manufactured in 925 Sterling Silver, our gold chains are 12k gold plated.

          Gold plating does wear off after time so it's best to remove your necklace before showering or swimming.

          You may request a quote and bring your chain in to our studio to be gold plated again.
